Design and development
In the design and development of the canopy we had the opportunity to collaborate with the staff of Metros Ligeros de Madrid, with INDRA, in charge of the access turnstiles, Informática El Corte Inglés, in charge of the surveillance system, and Lumar, in charge of manufacturing , supervision of the project and installation of the canopy.
It involved numerous theoretical analyzes to ensure the durability of the different elements that make up the canopy, such as the incidence of rain on the access turnstiles. The resistance of the tensioning cables or the height of the totem was also studied for its easy visibility from afar.

Result
The result of the EKI canopy for Metros Ligeros de Madrid is a striking cantilevered design, with an aesthetic that resembles a bridge, representing the union between two areas. The side walls are blinded in the entire vertical zone, avoiding direct sunlight and the entry of rain. In this area, the space is used to create the structure that supports the roof and locate the totem with the MLM corporate graphics.
USER EXPERIENCE
The shape is carefully designed to generate the sensation of a passageway and invite you to walk through it (the entrance has more presence than the exit).
